Installation#
The recommended way to install OpenAlea is to create a new conda environment.
Conda Installation#
Conda is a package manager that can be installed on Linux, Windows, and Mac. If you have not yet installed miniforge-conda on your computer, you can find instructions and installers here.
Caution
Under windows, after the installation of miniforge we recommand to use Miniforge Prompt as terminal and to use conda instead of mamba to activate environnement.
OpenAlea Installation#
Installing the lastest OpenAlea release 3.0.0#
First, create an environment named openalea.
Launch a console or a terminal (See Miniforge Prompt in Start menu on windows) and execute this:
mamba create -n openalea -c openalea3 -c conda-forge openalea=3.0.0
This will create a new environment called openalea with all packages released in OpenAlea 3.0.0 installed, see the list of them here . You can find the details about the release on the release page .
> :warning: This meta-package that includes all openalea packages plus all dependencies is quite heavy (>1 Go). Install only required package for a lighter environment.
Installing specific OpenAlea packages#
